URDINI LAKES

This cluster of lakes lays between Malyovitsa peak and the Seven Rila lakes. It is a trek for those who demand more and are willing to take the extra step to experience something spectacular.

DESCRIPTION:

It is truly a marvelous experience because it is very remote, physically demanding and offers a whole different show in general.

You will see Malyovitsa circus, Elenini lakes, Malyovitsa peak, Rila Monastery, Dodov peak, Urdini Lakes, Seven Rila lakes and many more along the way.

While the 7 Rila lakes gig can be done using the lift in one or two days, this one requires its participants to walk carrying a moderate weight load on their back for two full days.

SCHEDULE:

The trek will cover a vast territory of Rila national park, starting from Malyovitsa ski center, walking up to Malyovista hut, and continuing to Malyovista peak. The view along the way and from the top is least to say inspiring!

From Malyovitsa peak we continue along the ridge to the Urdini Lakes where we will camp and spend the night there. We will cook our own food, rest and continue in the morning. Food and beverages will be brought and prepared on the spot. Camping equipment and necessities will be provided as well. The camp site will be just above the Urdini lakes facing north east allowing us to have our coffee in the morning overlooking the sunrise, the Lakes and Stara planina (Old Mountain) to the North.

The combination of all those natural beauties equals serenity and truly an experience of a lifetime, attributable only to those willing to come out of their comfort zone.

The second day we will have breakfast early in the morning then we'll proceed to the Seven Rila lakes and the nearby lodge. You will have the opportunity to see the Seven Rila lakes and to take some more photographs. We can have some tea or coffee by one of the lakes before we descend further down to the Seven Rila Lakes lodge. We will rest there and grab something to eat. We will continue walking in the forrest passing by Lovna and Vada lodges. Along the way you will see many rivers, species and plants typical only for the area. The trek will end at the parking lot of Malyovitsa Ski center from where we will drive back to Sofia. The trek is scheduled for two days.
